Unsecuring an Access 2002 database

Chip Anderson

Several months ago at a user's request I secured an Access
2002 database per Knowledgebase article 289885. I am an
authorized administrative user of the database, and I
documented all user names, levels, and passwords, as well
as the Workgroup ID, Admin password, and all Personal IDs.
I also have backups of the workgroup file.

Now- despite my strenuous warnings at the time- my user
wants to unsecure the database. I cannot seem to find a
Knowledgebase article on how to safely do this. Can anyone
help?

Thanks!

The steps to unsecure are in the security FAQ

(item #34)

Basically you log in as the administrative user, Give full permissions for
all objects back to the Users Group.
Close Access, and then reopen it using the standard system.mdw workgroup
file.
Create a new database and import all objects from your database (this last
step ensures that the Admin user owns all objects)

.your user is probably signing on as the admin user so
give then admin user full permission to the database and
objects.
