Unsecuring Access 2000

I created a database and not knowingly secured it
throught both the avialable options, the users and grops
security and the user-level security. then i split the
database. The second computer on which i open doesnot ask
me for the password or any thing at all.
So i decided to go in and try to bring it back to the
unsecure mode where it doesnt ask to login only on my
machine. Need help in doing that.
Even when i try to create a new mdb file, it asks for the
password first to attach the security only on my machine.
How can i get rid of this thing, its really annoying.

Those are the same options - perhaps you mean user level security and the
database password?
then i split the
database. The second computer on which i open doesnot ask
me for the password or any thing at all.

Then you missed a step in securing it. Also if you used the database
splitter wizard, then the backend would lose its security settings.
So i decided to go in and try to bring it back to the
unsecure mode where it doesnt ask to login only on my
machine. Need help in doing that.

Since you didn't secure it properly, it's likely you can create a new
database and import all objects.
Even when i try to create a new mdb file, it asks for the
password first to attach the security only on my machine.

Do a search on your computer for all *.mdw files. Hopefully, you created a
new workgroup when you secured it. If you did, then your search will locate
more than one mdw file. Use Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe to see which mdw you
are joined to. Click 'join' and rejoin the standard system.mdw that ships
with Access.

If you have only one mdw, or didn't create a new workgroup when you secured,
then you modified the standard system.mdw workgroup. You need to log in as
the 'Admin' user, and go to Tools, Security, Accounts and go to the change
password tab to set the password back to null.

Another option (perhaps better), is to copy system.mdw from another
computer.

If you want to try securing your mdb again, follow the steps at
