When I click anything on my PC, whether it's a hyperlink, icon, program,
folder, etc. windows only responds to about 1/4 of the mouse clicks. I was
just wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem or can offer a
possible solution. If I click and drag on the desktop as if I am going to
highlight some icons on the desktop, I do not experience the problem. This
is the only situation where windows responds to every mouse click, which
leads me to believe that it is not a hardware issue.
I am running windows xp home, experienced the problem both before and after
service pack 2. I have updated norton and scanned for viruses, found
nothing, as well as scanned for spyware. My pc is an hp pavilion with an AMD
athlon XP and 512mb of ram.
Thanks in advance,
