Unread Messages Folder

Dennis Hughes

I had an unread messages folder right under my inbox in Outlook 2003.
Had to redo my hard disk and lost it when I reloaded Outlook.

I've looked and can't find where to bring it back.

Anybody have any idea how to retrieve it?

Thanks,

Dennis

If you reformatted your hard drive, quite naturally you've erased it. What
exactly do you mean by "redo" your hard disk? Isn't the whole idea of
"redoing" your hard disk erasing everything on it and starting fresh? If
you did that and did not back up your files first, you're out of luck.

Brian,

Cancel my explanation below. I found the unread messages folder under the
Search Folders. I right clicked on the folder and put it up with my Inbox and
Sent Items.

I didn't explain this very well. When I had Outlook 2003 in my hard drive
originally, there was an unread messages folder, which I used to read all the
new incoming messages rather than go to the individual folders to read the new
messages.

When I reloaded Outlook on the new hard drive, there was no unread messages
folder, just an inbox and Sent Items.

I'm not looking to recover the messages, as I had the pst file that restored
all of my messages.

I'm just trying to figure out how to establish an unread messages folder in the
new Outlook, the same as I had in the original load.

Regards,

Dennis
