Unread mail folder not working

Hello,

I've currently got Outlook 2007 on my test machine and have found the Unread
mail special folder is not working. When I view the folder I see mails that
were previously unread that I have read now but still appear in the Unread
Mail folder.

Any ideas if this is fixable?

Hi Kolin,

I seemed to have the same problem as well and despite pressing the F5 key
numerous times, or starting and closing out Outlook, deleting and recreating
the search folder the Unread Mail search folder still displayed messages that
are already read. So, it appears that this may be a bug.

However, the workaround I've been using is to mark the message as read and
then mark it as unread, and hit F5 right afterwards. That seems to have
cleaned up the mailbox, but it is quite cumbersome.

Maybe someone will be able to give more insight into this problem.

I occasionally (rarely) get messages that never go away from the "Unread
Mail" search folder. They don't show as unread (bold), but they should
be hidden all together. By this point I had ~15 various items stuck in
this state.

I tried your method and the messages are no longer showing in the unread
mail folder.

Your fix has also worked for me Cindy. Not a resolution but an excellent work
around until MS fix this in the final release.
