Unnecessary printer drivers

S

SANTANDER

I've installed HP printer driver I have downloaded from HPweb, then
installed HP USB printer driver, use HP LaserJet 3050 CDROM. Its unclear why
my My Printers and Faxes folder show few extra HP LaserJet 3050 printers,
which marked as 'Auto HP LaserJet 3050 Series PCL 6 on NETWORKNAME'. Correct
printer installed I use is 'HP LaserJet 3050 Series PCL 6', the other ones
is inaccessible anyway. Does this extra printer icons reflect real HP
LaserJet 3050 drivers installed in my system, or driver is only one? Device
Manager show the follows: IEEE 1284.4 compatible printers -> 'HP LaserJet
3050(DOT4PRT)' + IEEE 1284.4 devices -> 'HP LaserJet 3050(DOT4)' + Imaging
devices -> HP LaserJet 3050.
Is the some of this drivers unnecessary and how to uninstall it?

Thanks,
Santander

If - in a "details' view of 'Printers and Faxes' you see any printers whose
status is not 'Ready' or some other easily remedied status (Out of Toner,
etc) that makes sense to you... Simply click on (highlight) the printer
name in question and press the DELETE key. Confirm the deletion and it
should go away.

Worst case - if you have printed something to these bum printers - open the
printers up (double-click on them) to see and CANCEL/PURGE the jobs in its
queue and then delete the printer(s) you do not need.

One printer in 'Printer and Faxes' folder have 'Unable to connect' status.
This probably due I tried print via shared HP network printer, but fails due
network problem.
However, removing printer icon probably will not uninstall printer driver
and it will loads with windows each with.

As long as it was only the *driver* and not software - yes - it will.

If it was software as well - then you uninstall it like you would any other
software... Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs.

I've installed driver only, not full HP software. I want determine is this
one and the same driver, or few drivers. If one driver is unnecessary I want
uninstall it.
