unmountable_boot_volume

Hello,
When booting the computer, the blue screen appears
w/ error message: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME on top of
screen & STOP 0x000000ED on bottom of screen. I tried
booting w/ the Windows CD but it won't read at start up
and just goes to the blue screen. Does anyone have any
ideas?
