Unlocking links

J

Jasmine

I have a spreadsheet that has formulas that link to
another spreadsheet. I want to send the sheet out to
other users and not have the Update Links message appear
when they open it. I tried to do this by going to Edit /
Links and clicking the manual option. However it is
grayed out, so I can't use it. Help says the links have
to been unlocked. Anyone know how to unlock the links? I
would appreciate any help!! Thanks!!!

P.S. There is no protection turned on for the worksheet or
workbook.

Hi,

If you know which cell is linked to another worksheet, go to those
cells, copy and paste them as values in those cells itself so that the
link gets cut.

However, if you just want the Update links message not to appear when
the users open it, then go to Tools->Options->Edit and uncheck the "Ask
to update automatic links"

Regards

Govind.
