Unlink Table and Add New Field

Hi,

Using Access 2000.

I have an Aces database with 20 or so tables, several linked with each
other, this is shown by the black arrow pointing to the table.

I want to open a linked table that contains 10 fields, insert a new field
which will only exist in this table, close and save the table and add the
new field to an existing Form where I will enter some numbers unique to this
record. My problem is that whilst I can open the table, I can't make
changes and save.

Any ideas?

You have to open the database in which the table actually exists.
