Unknown Program Activity

Using Windows XP, I notice a program of some sort running in the
background for just a second, every once in a while.
I have MS Office 2002 installed, and I use an HP 1315 all in one
printer.
I know, there is not much information in those statements, but the
program, whatever it is, shows up on the taskbar, for a second,
without any text, then disappears. It does not appear to happen at
specific intervals. Any ideas what it might be?

First things to check are to run anti-spyware programs (adaware, spybot
search & destroy) and then see if it still happens. Update your AV .dat
files and run a complete system scan.

Then, if you still have problems, post to a group for your operating system.
It is not an Outlook problem.
