Unknown Contacts Auto-appear When Entering Email Address?

When I start composing a new email To: "someone" in my Contact list it offers
up not only my contacts but also every Tom, Dick, and Harry that are _not_ in
my Contact list as I enter this address. Further more I am aware of one
option where Senders are added to your Contact list and that "feature" is
turned Off and just reconfirmed Off.

Where do I have to go or what do I have to do to get rid of all the odd-ball
senders I don't want to see when I start looking for and typing in an email
address? Can this permanently be corrected?

(Ah yes... I have installed IE8 in case it matters.)

Okay, they are not "unknown" contacts but they are unwanted contacts that
should not be appearing.

Windows Mail auto-completes from a separate list of 29 addresses you type
in, not from your contacts. This list is stored in the registry.

If you wish to remove old or incorrect addresses, there is a utility to
clear recently used email addresses in Windows Mail...

To retrieve addresses from your contacts folder, click on the To: button.

This is one of the features that works properly in the newer Windows Live
Mail.
