Units of Measurement on Ruler Bar

Even though I've changed the unit of measurement of my ruler bar to inches, it will not change. I'm not sure what the present UOM is but it's not inches. I went into Tools, Options, General and changed to inches (several times), but this didn't do it. Has anyone had this problem? I'm operation Word 202, SP-2. Thanks.

These settings are overridden by the computer's settings. Try this:

"Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Regional Options (or Settings),
"Number" TAB, "Measurement" (at the bottom).

Okay, I've tried the website instructions and I still cannot get this to work. Are there any other options available
I've made sure that all my options and other data match that of the instructions in the chat. Am I missing something

To what website instructions are you referring? Those at
http://www.gmayor.com/Character_Units.htm ?

Please explain what you did.
