Unistalled Office 2007-All sorts of troubles now with Office 2003

I tried the 2007 office Beta and had all sorts of troubles....crashes,
machine slow, error messages so I uninstalled 2007 and can't run 2003. I
cant send/recieve email in Outlook 2003 and am having trouble reinstalling
the office 2003 back to normal.

It does nothing when I try to send and recieve email. I tried to look in
the email accounts option and it says "The operation failed due to a registry
or installation problem. Please restart outlook and if the problem persists,
reinstall outlook".

I have uninstalled 2003 and uninstallled 2007 beta and am trying to get the
maching back to where it was. I should have never tried the 2007 beta. It
has caused me nothing but time and frusteration. Please help.

Have you already tried using System Restore to restore your system to
the point prior to installing 2007?

Yes I tried that. It goes through the restore process and then says after it
is done "No changes have been made to your computer. Your system cannot be
restored" I am also getting the windows installer trying to install every
time I open any other Office software product.

There is no outlook in my Internet Options for sending and recieving email
as my default program. When I click on the "new" message in outlook it says
"The messaging interface has returned and unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook". Needless to say I have restarted the program
multiple times and it did not work. I also have tried to reinstall Office 5
times and it does not work properly.

Please help. I need to have Office work properly for my job. Thanks.

Hi Matt,

I'd try the following (starting with Office 2003 installed):
- reboot
- reinstall Office 2007 as a side-by-side install (choose custom and
keep all previous versions. It will upgrade Outlook)
- reboot
- uninstall Office 2007
- reboot
- uninstall Office 2003
- reboot
- reinstall Office 2003
Does that work?
