uninstalling

My father has somehow ended up with a standalone version
of Excel 97 on his XP PC. I'd very much like to
uninstall it. Every time I go to add/remove programs and
try and get rid of excel, it asks for the install disks.

As the poster below states, I shouldn't have to use the
installation disk to uninstall something, but what should
be required and what is required differ frequently.
Anyone else have a better idea?

Sounds like it has been partially uninstalled already.

Quick ? -- why do you want to uninstall Excel?

If you really want it gone, just delete it
