Uninstalling program leaves program listed under linked events

I uninstalled a program that came with my Canon digital
camera called "ZoomBrowser EX." It is Canon's software
which is designed to transfer the pictures from the
camera to the computer. After uninstalling the program,
I noticed that it still appears as a linked event when I
plug my camera into the computer. This is bothering me
because the program is not even installed anymore. Is
there any way I can remove it as a choice of program to
use when I plug in my digital camera? I just want to
take it off that list that pops up. To make matters
worse, I not only have one, but 2 entries in that popup
window for this program. Please tell me how to get them
off that popup list. Thanks.

Try removing the registry keys from that program in your
registry using regedit.

How safe is that? I've been told not to mess with the
registry unless you have step by step instructions on
what exactly to do. I would not even know where in the
registry to look.
