Can anyone give me direction on how to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Album
Starters Editiion 2.0 - German which I downloaded in error and now tried to
uninstall and got a fatal error message. My Operating System is Windows XP
Home Edition, Media Edition. I contacted Adobe but, I have to be a paid
subscriber to their products in order to obtain help.

Is there no uninstall entry at Start>All Programs>Adobe>Photoshop Album
Starter Edition?

What about in Add/Remove Programs? These two options are the only way I can
think of that will let you uninstall the application. Have you run a Google
search for "uninstall adobe photoshop starter edition"?

Kevin: I checked to see if there was a unistall at the Start>All
Programs>Adobe>Photoshop Album and there was none. The Icon also appears on
my desktop. I forgot to mention that I tried Control Panel and Add/Remove
Programs. That is where I received a fatal error. Do you know if there is
any way to delete this program from the DOS Mode?

Dear x@y:

I did as you instructed and tried three uninstallers. Each of them was
limited as a free version which required a purchase to get the full program.
However, the end result was the Adobe PhotoShop Album Starter Edition 2.0 -
German is still in the Add/Remove program. Does Windows XP have a built in
Registry Cleaner? Or, would you know how to use the Command Module to remove
the software?

Hi Tom,

I am not aware of Windows having a build in Registry Cleaner,
I would try something else not to change anything on the Registry
unless You know what to do.

Here are a couple of suggestions.
Did You try to restore Your System to a date before Adobe install?
If that does not work, try the following:

(1) Click open My Computer (2) Click open HD CO:\

(3) Click open the "Program Files Folder"

(4) Look for the Adobe Folder Right Click on It and choose DELETE
if Adobe is still stubborn to remove try the following:

(5) Right click on the Folder and choose "Move this Folder"
Move it to the Desktop, once there take it to the recycling BIN,
in case does not want to go, right click on it and choose Delete.

(6) Click "Start" / "Search" Choose Files & Folders Type IN
"Adobe" and click Search, and Delete what You can from the search,
there could be another dozen of files hiding.

Empty the Bin, Restart Your Computer.

The above worked for me a couple of times hope it does for
You also.

Hi x@y:

I tried all your suggestions and the Add/Remove dialog box is still showing
Adobe Photoshop Album Starters Edition 2.0. At this point I think we should
just let it go. I want to thank you very much for trying to help me out. I
do appreciate it.

Hi x@y:

Well what do you know I took another advise and reinstalled the Adobe
PhotoShop Album Starter Edition 2.0 - German. Only this time I put it in the
Adobe Folder under the Programs Folder and initiated the install from the
folder. Low and behold it activated and did not appear in the Add/Remove
Dialog Box. IT WAS GONE. Then I downloaded Adobe PhotoShop Ablum starter
Edition 3.0 for Windows XP and low and behold I initiated it and it fully
loaded. Then I went back into the Adobe Folder and deleted the v. 2.0. I am
golden. What a frustrating mess.

Hello Tom,

Thanks for posting back, so someone else can benefit on similar problems.

I use Adobe Reader the new version 7.0 Not because I like it, because of
the useless PDF files at times we need to read.

Adobe reader version 7.0 is bulky 65.09 MB on my HD,
when my antivirus Program is only 40.77 MB on the HD.

Adobe wants also to install tool Bars, and BHO "browser helper object"
and wants to run at Start, when you turn the Computer on,

Adobe reminds me of what I have read on this NG. About "AOL"
they are both invasive, and try to run Your Computer.

Wish You the Best, x@y
