Hi all,
I want to format my C drive where Windows XP is currently installed so I can
install Windows Server 2003 in its place. I can't just upgrade from Windows
XP to Server 2003 so need to remove it first.
The problem is that I have lost my XP Disk and all the posts in regards to
uninstalling XP are to use the XP Disk.
Surely there is another way to format my disk - I have tried to use Format
C: /fs:ntfs /x which should force the volume to dismount but get the error:
Cannot lock the drive. The volume is still in use.
Can someone please enlighten me as to how I can (simply) format the C drive.
There MUST be a way.
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards,
Grant.
