Will uninstall / re-install XP give me a new / functioning version of WWM7?

FWIW...if you plan to reinstall Windows XP...you
should be absolutely certain that all of your
important files are successfully backed up on
external media. It can be devastating to come to
the realization that all of your work for months or
even years is gone forever.

I read your previous articles and it sounds like you
have system issues...it may be worth a try to do a
system restore to a time before the problems began.

System to a Previous State in Windows XP

It would be best if you run it in Safe Mode:

Anyway...

Yes...if you reinstall Windows XP you will have
a new copy of Movie Maker...reinstalling WinXP
SP2 or SP3 should do the same.

And you might try reinstalling Movie Maker but
based on your description of the problem I doubt
that it will solve the issues.

The latest version of Movie Maker for Windows
XP is version 2.1.

Here's some info on reinstalling Movie maker 2.1.

Good luck...
