uninstall programs

I would like to uninstall PICASA, but save my data base, of the folders and
the albums I have created. Some other systems appear to let you do this.

however my problem is that the path goes Start/all
programs/PICASA/uninstall. I don't seem to be able to keep my database of
holiday pictures - which I've spent so long on sorting. I was wondering if
there is a way around this

Couldn't you simply back up the entire database - wherever it lies - to
a thumb drive, other USB drive, or simply another folder out of the
"line of fire" and then go ahead and uninstall the software? You'd
still have the backup.

Such as?

And what makes you think that database would be usable by anything
other than PICASA?

Along the lines of Questor's recommendation.... I don't use Picasa, but if
the file extension is jpg, tiff, etc, then there is no problem at all. If
not, perhaps Picasa has an export feature. Or try to find a program that
can open Picasa file extensions that would allow you to save to another "out
of the line of fire folder".

Then just go into your programs folder and Delete it. don;t worry about the
rest
