Uninstall Files created during SP Upgrades and slow machine.

My system has an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ processor with 512K of cache, 512Mb
PC3200 RAM and a 160 GB SATA disk. Internet connection is 1Mb Broadband.

The problem of slow speed described below did not occur following SP2
upgrade but is a recent event. I run the full versions of AdAware for spyware
and Norton Antivirus and Norton antispam, all are updated weekly.

Since installing XP Pro originally I have upgraded twice using SP1 & SP2.
These upgrades appear to create a lot of VERY big back up files in the
C:\Corrupt folders and in the C:\Windows folders. My machine has since begun
to operate very slowly, particularly online. My C drive which is only used
for system/program files is becoming full, i.e. < 15% free space. In order to
free up more space I want to know if it is safe to delete all these
$Ntuninstall.... files. Can anyone advise please?

Any other suggestions to restore previous speed would be appreciated.

then type:CHKDSK C: /R When its thru,type:EXIT For disk space,read kb307889

For
C:,press set button 2X,close out,restart computer,on desktop,disk clean

defrag, then reset page file to:Let windows manage Click set 2X,close out.
