Unexpected passwords

We are having a problem where profiles with a password won't accept the
correct password, and profiles without any password set request one when we
try to log on. Of course we can't enter an aceptable one as we don't know
what it wants.

This only happens when the computer has been idle for a while & gone into
standby. No screensaver password is set. Thanks for any help.

to turn it off so that when you resume from standby, it doesnt ask you for
the password, go to start>control panel>power options> and click on the tab
that says advanced, and uncheck the box that says, Prompt for password when
computer resumes from standby. As for the unknow passwords, i dont know what
to do
