Underlined icons and files

I recently had my laptop serviced and Windows XP was reinstalled. All icons
on my desktop are underlined so a casual click launches the application.
Also, in Office XP, when I open files, the open files window shows all files
underlined so again, a casual click opens that file.

Hi HaroldB,

Open any folder or My Computer and go to Tools>Folder Options. Under the
General tab, in the "Click items as follows section", click in the radio
button(s) that correspond to your preference (eg., click in the radio button
beside "Double-click to open an item...." if that is your preference), then
click on Apply then OK.
