Unblocking Shell Execute Hook

Blocked an unknown (according to the AntiSpyware program)
Shell Execute Hook to try and cure a long standing
problem. This was an experiment as I was under the
impression that I could unblock it if necessary. Didn't
cure the problem and I can't unblock it - it does not
appear on any of the blocked reports nor is it listed
under system execute hooks. Any chance of recovering it ?
Gone back through 2 weeks of system restore points to see
if that would help but none of them will restore!!

Two things to try, check under Realtime Protection > System or Internet
Agents, check to see if its blocked under those two.
or
Give this a try:
Open up control panel and double-click on add/remove programs.
Select Microsoft AntiSpyware
Select "Change"
On the Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard, click next.
On the next screen (Microsoft AntiSpyware Maintenance Wizard) select Update
Microsoft AntiSpyware and click next.
Select Install
Let the product update.
Click Finish.

Started having problems with that one today. After I

blocked the shell hook, it just hopped a ride to
Nowheresville. Apparently, something has found a way to
attach itself to system files. I already have a router
with built-in firewall, but added an additional firewall.
Seems like 3 firewalls may be overkill, but is there such
a thing as being too cautious when you can't afford to go
to the shop after your PC goes super nova?

Re-installing your system files from your OS disk might

help correct your problem.
