Unable to View IE "e" Icon

I am unable to view the IE icon "e" as my icon associated with HTM and HTML
documents even though I am able to associate the IE program executable I am
unable to see the icon, I only see an icon for unassociated file extensions.
I think the problem was caused when I installed, then uninstalled Firefox and
then reinstalled it. Is there a way to clean up my file associations in the
windows registry? I have already tried to reset the default file
associations in Folder Options but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Incorrect or generic Windows icon displayed for HTM and HTML files:
