Unable to use e-machines 6-in-1 card reader to preview images

I have a casio qv-r40 digital camera. When I insert the sd memory card into
the reader slot, I get the folder DCIM, then open for folder CASIO100, then
open that folder to get the tile image (photo). Problem: the image will
not show in preview mode or in the windows fax & viewer. If I move the
image to my pictures, there is no preview. Can the reader drive be
configured to allow preview? Or is this not possible?
