Unable to update values in linked table (Excell-Access)

Access refuses to allow me to update a linked excell spreadsheet although all
the online and offline help says I should be able to do this.

If I understand correctly a simple re-install will not remove the "tainted"
dll, I would have to reformat the drive and then reinstall in order to regain
that functionality.
Do you know which files need to be deleted to remove SP-3 from Access

If you're going to reformat the drive anyhow, what does it matter which
files need to be deleted? As you've stated, there is no other way to back
the service pack out.

Before you go to that extreme, though, do you need to work with linked
tables? Can you use Excel Automation to update the spreadsheets?

I had been accustomed to using Access to update one spreadsheet from another
based on multiple criteria. It is going to cause considerable extra work to
use the suggested work around. The excell microsoft query is not all that
powerful. I think that my only answer is to go back to office xp or 2k and
then look for an open source solution. If you have a better idea I would be
glad to explore it.
