Unable to sign-out of microsoft

I was on the boards earlier and I was signed into microsoft, but I noticed
when I clicked the sign-out button, it would still say I was signed in. I
erased all temporary files (cookies, history, offline files) but still no
luck, and the only way I'm able to sign out is if I shutdown or restart my
computer. Oh and also I went on msn and signed in and I was able to sign out
with no complications. What is the problem? How would I fix this?

Hmmm I altered some cookies settings and now I have got it to where I am
signed out of Microsoft as soon as I close the browser.

How do I get it where I am able to sign-out automatically (upon clicking
"sign-out")?
