Unable to SEND messages. One stuck in outbox.

I have an outgoing message STUCK in my outbox. Using Vista. Windows mail.

Called DELL support. Spent two hours on phone. Tried all kinds of supposed
solutions posted on this site and nothing worked. Including downloading the
plug in that is supposed to cure this problem!

It seems that MANY people have had similar problems. Surely there's
SOMETHING that I can do? I have an online business and send hundreds of
emails daily...Have lost a half day's work already today.

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks

Download and install this fix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or
the 64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common
antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
or a recent one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although
seldom immediately, so if you have such a program, remember
where to find the fix - you are likely to need it again.

Are you calling this fix a plug in? If so, make sure you've tried
both versions. The wrong one will just refuse to install.

If this doesn't work, tell us what if any antivirus programs you have.
Some of them need to be uninstalled, not just disabled, to stop
them from causing problems. Also show us the full error messages
you get if any then trying to send mail.

Have you asked your internet provider for help with this problem?
If their email servers have problems, trying to sending mail is not likely
to get past them.
