Unable to save a PS3 project to a DVD for playback ...

On the "Save Your Story" page when I try to "save a project to DVD for
playback on a home DVD player", the process gets up to Step 14 of 14
"Generating Video" and stops about 3/4 along the bar. I have left it over
night, but it just won't budge, so I give up and click cancel.
The story saves perfectly when I save it in the "save it for playback on a
computer" option and choose any Computer or the email settings, but not when
I try to save it to any Pal DVD settings, including papajohns Pal DVD
profiles. With all the DVD profiles it stops at the same place in Step 14.
The reason I particularly want to save it to a DVD setting is because when
it is saved as a Computer setting and I play it on my DVD and television, not
all of the photo is shown on the screen - the sides are cut/reduced. How do I
overcome this problem - is it to do with the Saving settings or is there
something else I could do?
My aim is to simply show my story on the TV with all of every photo showing,
just as it does when I play it back on my computer, so any solution to my
problem would be gratefully accepted. Thanks.
P.S. I use Roxio MyDVD 9 Studio Premier to burn DVD's.

You might be bumping into the memory limit of your computer and what PS3
needs to finish the saving.

My website's Problem Solving > Can't Save a Movie page covers the memory
issue... and the same thing applies to saving a story. Your being able to
save a story with email or other settings that use less memory is a good
clue.

Thankyou for responding so quickly. I read your article and tried saving the
story again with the Task Manager open. The figures I noted were at the
beginning Commit Charge - total 93100, Limit 2501104, Peak 978508 and when it
"stopped saving - total 16044444 and changing, Limit 2501104 and Peak
1646024. Commit Charge bottom right of Task Manager 1566M/2442M. Virtual
Memory is - Initial size 1524MB and Maximum size 3048. I have a Intel Pentium
4 LGA775 computer with Total Capacity C Drive 149 GB - used 77.1 GB and free
71.8 GB. I have know idea if this information is at all useful to you in
helping me to save my story to DVD.
If it is a memory issue please could you tell me if and how I can increase
the memory or is there anything else I can do? Thankyou very much.

Thankyou for responding so quickly. By program, do you mean PS3? I looked in
the properties and it just said "Photo Story 3". I am running Windows XP
Service Pack 2 Home Edition. I appreciate you trying to assist. Thankyou.

Thanks for the info.

PhotoStory 3 has an image limit of 300 and
even less if you use lots of motion effects and
transitions. Maybe you could create several
smaller projects and use them as chapters
in your DVD. Or maybe you could import them
into Movie Maker and combine them.
