Unable to Receive Emails from Google Groups Only...

M

Matt M.

I've been fighting this for too long & have been told too much BS to know
what to do now.....
Google is NO help!
Cox (my internet/email provider) tells me ALL is well on their end!
Which brings me here, this is what I'm fighting -
Up until Sunday 10/26/08 I was receiving emails from my Google Groups to my
outlook w/o ANY issues. I've made no updates to my knowledge much less ANY
changes to my settings &/or PC, however the last post I've received from my
Google Group has been Sunday! I can send messages effortlessly, I can
receive emails (as long as they're not from my google group) effortlessly.
I can even send emails to my google group and access my group via web & see
the posts & all other parties w/in my google group also receive my
posts....all BUT ME!

Someone said something about checking my MX or DNS or something....but I
have no clue how, where or what they're talking about...any help would
GREATLY be appreciated is it's obvious Google is NO help at all!

Unless you have your own email server, its not a DNS or MX problem you can
fix.
Are the messages in your junk folder?
Do google groups have a way to check for bounced messages (as yahoo groups
does) ?

If you are a memeber of more than one Google Group, is it that particular
group or any? If you can receive mail from domains other than Google, it's
not likely to be an Outlook issue but an issue with Cox or something between
Google and Cox blocking the message. Can you log into your Cox mailbox via
web interface and see if there is a junk or spam mail folder there that may
be receiving the messages? It sounds more like something with Cox
intercepting the messages and preventing them from beling delivered to your
server mailbox's Inbox.

I just checked....this is crazy! I only use 2 google groups, both of them
I'm considered the Admin or "Owner". I can send/receive to/from Google Group
#1, but still cannot see/receive anything from Google Group #2.

I went to my webmail w/Cox & I can't see any of my Google posts their either.
But I just noted to another person helping me w/this issue - I have 2 Google
Groups. Both of which I'm the "Owner". HOWEVER - Google Group #1 I can
send/receive w/o ANY issues, but Google Group #2 I can only send but not
receive, not even my own posts w/o logging onto Google Groups directely.

then it’s a problem with that google group. Most likely, the group has your
account on hold because a message bounced. It's very common with mailing
lists and the bounce software doesn't know owners - it just knows bouncing
accounts.

Did you check your group settings and confirm your subscription to the
group? I don't use google groups but I am very familiar with how mailing
lists work with other list servers - if there is a problem with an address,
the list owner can look up information in the membership settings and see if
it was on hold for bouncing etc.

I've confirmed my subscription as I am the "Owner" of the group. I don't
show any messages &/or members (including myself) as bouncing.
It's crazy b/c I'm apart of 3 different Google Groups & all but the one I

you can't see them in outlook because they are not getting sent to your
address. Does your account offer web mail? If so, log in online and see if
they are there - if so, check outlook's junk mail folder.
