unable to open 2nd browser

A friend has advised me that he is unable to open a second IE 6 browser.
1st opens fine but nothing happens when trying to open a 2nd.
If he minimizes the first, then the 2nd will open, other than that, nothing
he tries works.

Running xp sp2

pretty vague sort of question I know, are we talking lack of ram here, or
possible something that is simple to fix.

Go to Start\Internet Options\Advanced Options\Browsing\remove check on
"Enable page transitions", and on "Start shortcuts on already open windows".
If this doesn't work, reset the Advanced Options to default values, and make
sure these values are disabled.

Hello,

Try running it with add-ons disabled. Start Internet
Explorer as normal, Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons.
Disable all the add-ons and enable them one by one till the problem appears
and you get the culprit.
