unable to move files and folders from desktop on winxpsp2

Hi,
On winxpsp2 if I select all files and folders on desktop with ctrl+a then
ctrl+x and pasted in d:\test folder I unable to move all files and folders
May i know what is the reason and How can i move all files and folders to a
specified folder without any tools or scripts.

Deselect things that aren't really folders like My Computer, Recycle Bin,
Network Neighborhood, etc.

What you see on your desktop is a combination of the items in the
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop and
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Desktop folders.

You may not have privilege to move things located in the first folder
above.
