'Unable to load btrez.dll'

M

MAT

Trying to get acces to 'Control Panel' I get the message 'Unable to load
btrez.dll' and the windows freezes so I have to use ctrl+alt+del closing the
job in order to continue!
Any suggestions?
I have used WindowsXP a couple of years without problems and for the moment
I don't have any other XP-problems!

Sincerely

Is your OS a Windows XP Home Edition Deutsch version?
If you still have the install CD, try repairing it.

GLuck!

btrez.dll has something to do with Bluetooth Software. It is not an XP
file.

And who has reported this?

Here?
http://www.filename.info/f/btrez.dll.html

Comments: Bluetooth Software Resource DLL
CompanyName: WIDCOMM, Inc.
FileDescription: btrez.DLL

WIDCOMM, Inc. was Bluetooth, until Broadcom Corporation bought them.

Just because a dll file is in the system32 folder doesn't make it a part of
XP.

They also report shell.dll as being part of German releases of XP. In fact,
that site reports all XP files as being part of German releases of XP. It's
a German site. ;-) shell.dll probably ships with every language version of
XP.
