Unable to join a domain with a Vista PC

G

Guest

When I attempt to add a domain to my Vista PC I get a pop up error box
ComputerName/Domain Change
The following error occurred attempting to join a domain.
An attempt to resolve the dns name of the DC in the domain being joined has
failed. Please verify the client is configured to reach a DNS server that
can resolve DNS names in the target domain.
This is working fine if I do it from a Windows XP Machine

Check the DNS settings for networking on the Vista PC - the error message is
pretty much self explanatory. Any PC joining a domain in Active Directory
must be set up to use only the domain DNS servers to resolve names, not ISP
DNS servers or any others.
