Unable to Install Updates

Hi.
My pc is set to check for updates regularly and download automatically,
never had a problem before.
Now there's an update ready to install (yellow shield on the task bar) I go
to install (express)
The update is Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter KB904631
It initialises but then it stops and tells me
UPDATES WERE UNABLE TO BE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED
I've turned off the antivirus software and Outlook on and off, but still the
same.

When I go to the Microsoft Updates site and look for updates there are 2
mentioned there.
the other one is Office 2003 Service Pack 2.
But it doesn't work from there either
Can any one help please.

nope, still comes up with Unsuccessful.
I tried to do them separately but didn't work either.

I have the same problem and have searched through amounts of websites
to resolve this problem. I did the automatic update. I downloaded the
file directly - nothings seems to work. This is really starting to get
to me

If anyone finds a fix for this - Please let me know. I agree that this
isssue is getting a little old - I have searched for days with no luck
at finding a solution to this installation error.

I followed the instructions for this fix and It worked! Hopefully it
will work for you guys too.
