Unable to import email backup

Hello

I was using Office 2000 Professional with MS Outlook as my
email software. I made a back up of all my emails
into .pst files on a CD, and then had to reformat my hard
drive. After reinstalling Outlook, I am trying to import
my email backups, but am unable to do so. I get the
message saying "Properties for this information service
must be defined prior to use" ... " xxx.pst could not be
accessed. Access is denied" .

Please help with how I can import my emails back to
Outlook !

I as you will see in common with many others have had the same problem ... the following advice from David Reed worked a treat for me saving tyoing 500 addresses
Hi There

Try copying the file from the CD to a hard drive...and be sure to change th
properties of the file from READ-ONLY to allow read/write access to th
file
