Unable to download Windows XP Service Pack 1

Help! I have attempted three times to download Microsoft
Windows XP Service Pack 1 for my Dell computer running on
Windows XP. This supposedly "7 minute" download quickly
zips through the "Download Progress: 1.9 MB" phase, then
freezes before the "Install progress" status bar achieves
so much as one bar within it. I have disabled my anti-
virus software as Microsoft recommends, but I still
appear "frozen" at the "Windows Update - Web Page Dialog"
box.

Any help?
