Unable to delete / empty my deleted mail box

I used to be able to right click on the "deleted items" folder in my mail box
and get an option "empty deleted items" and could permanently delete the
items. Now when I try this function I get an "unknown error" message and it
will not let me delete them.

ok ... now I find it won't let me delete most items in my deleted mail
folder!!

If any messages can't be deleted, apply this Microsoft fix:

Although that article only mentions Outbox, it works for all mail folders.

Thanks Gary !! That worked great. I was able to download the fix and was
able to delete the messages. Only one remaining issue .... in the Deleted
Items folder there is a 'right click" feature to "empty deleted folder" where
with one click you can empty the deleted folder completely. This feature
still does not work. I do not get an error ... it just does not empty the
folder. I have to delete the messages in the Deleted Folder by highlighting
them and hitting the DELETE key. Any suggestions. Of course now this is a
minor issue as I can at least manually delete the items.

OOPS ........... it seems to be OK now. Once I manually deleted ALL the
items in the DELETED folder any new messages I placed into the deleted folder
seem to delete with the Empty function!

Update to Vista SP1 or SP2 and that will fix the issue.
