Unable to connect to applet after 5 attempts

When attempting to enter a work chat room, I get the above error message and
it will not load the chat room. I was using IE6 when this ocured and have now
installed IE7 however I am still unable to use the chat room! Any
suggestions??? Please help!!!

First thing I would try would be to update/reinstall Java:

I had this problem also. I found that ActiveX controls may be out of date for Java. I also found when correcting this problem that after I updated ActiveX controls for Java I could only get chat or schedule to open using Firefox. I hope this was helpful. It took me forever to figure this one out on my own.
