Unable to configure Outlook for gmail

Hi!
I am very new with MS OutLook.
I am using MS Outlook 2000.
When I trying to connect from Tools > Send/Receive > pop.gmail.com

it gives message >
The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server.

...........
Error Number: 0x800ccc0f



configuring with google direction: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=70770


Plz help me..........
