Unable to complete the operation on (application). Access is denied

I upgraded my Nt4 PDC to 2003 but now I cannot read my event logs

"Unable to complete the operation on (application). Access is denied"

This is on App log, system log, DS log, and File replication log, and DNS.
I can access the security log without a problem.


Any ideas?

Hi

We are having the same problem. We went from Win2k to Win2K3

Since we upgraded to Win2K3 server (DCs and Print Servers), we are getting an error trying to read any event log except security. We have a non-administrator user who reads the event logs. We have in place the policy to allow them to read the security log. Prior to upgrading, this user did not have any problems reading any of the event logs. Now when they try to view the logs, they get

"Unable to complete the operation on "<insert Log name - i.e System>". Access is denied

I have checked to make sure that the user and the groups that they belong to are not in the guest groups (domain and on server). I have also checked the policies concerning disallowing guest access. I have checked the permissions on the servers

Any ideas?

Did you find a solution for this issue? I have the exact same problem and it is driving me insane...
