Unable to Close/Delete .PST Files

Hello, everyone. I'm at my wits end trying to solve a MS Outlook 2000
problem.

System 1 is Win98SE, System 2 is Win XP Pro with SP 1a. running OL
2000 on both. The following problem is the same on both systems.

I have two .pst files that will not close. Each time i try to close
either i receive the following error:

The Operation Failed. An object could not be found.

All other operations are normal...I can open the folder list, read
messages, etc. But I cannot close either PSTnor can I get to the
ADVANCED options under properties. BTW, both are ARCHIVE .pst files.
And yes, auto-archiving is working just fine.

I can't seem to find anything on the MS Support website. Can anyone
here help?

This was discussed earlier on the board.

I can only talk about Outlook 2003.

You need to go into the control panel - mail icon, set up another profile,
transfer your mail to the new profile and then delete the old ones.
