unable to change font size

I am using PowerPoint 2002 and when I change one of the slide's font size
from 36 to 28 and save the presentation, when I reopen the presentation the
size has returned to 36. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem,
since my text is going off the slide with the larger font.

Alex,

First try Tools - Autocorrect Options - Autoformat as you type - uncheck the
two Autofit options to see is that helps any.

Second, I could be wrong but I remember reading a similar post some time ago
stating that this is a bug in PPT. As far as I can remember it has something
to do with multiple masters, and PPT reverting to the settings of the master
when you try to override text size on a slide that is not based on the first
master in the list of masters.

Third, Have you tried typing the size in the size box manually? Does that
help.

Luc's remembering correctly about the bug.

Basically, try changing the order of your master slides. This may cause
problems with other slides, though.

Probably the easiest, quickest fix is to format the placeholder the way you
want it, press Ctrl and drag the placeholder to the side a little. This
creates a copy of the placeholder, which is actually just a regular
textbox -- and the textbox won't be affected by the master slide, so it
avoids this bug. Delete the original placeholder.
