Unable to Activate Windows XP

Dear Someone,
I have a brand new computer with a licensed opererating system (win xp)
bought from our computer shop. I need to reactivate through the internet but
everytime i do so, the wizard stops at "Checking for connectivity" stage &
stays there forever. I can be able to log on to the internet & view other web
pages, which means the internet connection is OK.
I even set the HTTP service in Windows firewall using port 80 but to no avail.

Could anyone anyone suggest where could the problem be???

Useing the port settings as you have only fouls up the system,unless youre an
IT tech..Have you enable windows components thru add/remove,added IE to
exceptions in firewall,try run,type:cmd In cmd type:ipv6 install type:
netsh winsock reset type:EXIT Restart pc,retry back in xp.
