angela
I'm feeling really frusterated!
I haven't be able to access yahoo e-mail or the games that
you have to log into from my home computer for a couple of
months now. Here is my problem and I'm hoping someone
will be able to help me. Has anyone seen this problem
before?! I can get to the Yahoo homepage and then into
where you sign into yahoo e-mail. Now once I type in my e-
mail user ID and password I get "THE PAGE CANNOT BE
DISPLAYED" message. It won't even let me into yahoo games
(i.e. Canasta - you have to sign into this game). Now I
can sign into these anywhere else except home. I am
running WIN XP & IE6 on my machine. Here are the things
that I have already tried: Internet Options: 1) Cleared
Cookies 2) Deleted Files 3) Delete History (not sure where
to clear the cache) Downloaded all WIN XP security updates
Ran WinDoc to clean up the registry and ran a fix on any
of the problems I have made sure that I have no
viruses ... ran 3 different scanners. ran a spybot -
search & destroy ... I also downloaded Netscape to see if
I could get onto Yahoo through there, but that doesn't
work either. Changed my security and tried - but to no
avail ... so reset them. I have also tried the
following ... Go to a command prompt and type:
ENTER after each one
regsvr32 Softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll
these re-registers the IE dll's that affect entry to
secure websites (one's that need sign-in and passwords).
Oh yes and I can't forget this one too ... Actually, if
you rename the hosts file and reboot, WinXP will create a
new clean one. Or go to www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?
ttid=257 download and run. It rebuilds the hosts file and
puts in new winsocks.
I also have tried the ping that someone gave for yahoo and
that came up as not being able to be connected.
Have I missed anything?! Please help! This is most
annoying. Thank you, Angela
