Unable remove an entry

Purchased Sonic RecordNow 7.3 Deluxe software deluxe from Dell when
ordering Dell XPS Gen 4 with Win XP Pro.

Last week as it did not have one desired option I purchased Roxio Ver 7,
then Removed Sonic complete in XP Add or Remove Progs and installed Roxio.

Just today for some reason I opened Add or Remove progs and found that
Sonic, all four entries were listed...tried remove but it came up with info
re installing certain files first.(which was stated thst they were on an
unavailable disk)

No problem I figured ..just like Win 98, reinstall the prog then no roblelm
just uninstall it..HaH! would not install as info win mssgs stated info on
a disk which was not available and another one stating " Insert Sonic update
manager disk,etc'...never had any Update manager disk.

Call to Dell "Elite XPS Gen4 trained support tech team", young lady referred
me to call Sonic for support and I informed her that in the past any calls
to various venders resulted in being strongly advised this was an OEM
responsibility and to get assistane..That ended that attempt for help from
Dell l ?Ellite Traained ? Team for any and all XP Gen4 problemls.

So Backed up registry and delelted each and evert reference to Sonic in
registry.

Thought great..then went to Add or Remove again and behold...those little
Sonic buggers: Sonic DLA; Sonic MyDVD; Sonic Record Now Plus!;and Sonic
Update Manager are still there.

Back to registry and there are absolutely no repeat no entries re any Sonic
, folders, files , suba folders.,etc,etc. Zilch Sonic in registry

Anyone have any positive advice as to how to remove these unremovable
entries from XP Pro Add and Remove Progs?

Thanks in advance

Hi ... try this and see it if does it , turn off system restore , afterward
go into safe mode and then try the add and remove programs area

Thanks Road,
That is something to try, however I created a new restore point just before
deleting all the many Sonic entries in Registry to be save if all the many
deletions caused any problems in the future.....and I just noted that if I
turn off System Restore then all restore points are deleted..this puts me in
a bind for the time being but if no baddys develop in the near future I
certainly will try your welcome suggestion,
Again, thanks, and whenever I try this I will repost results here...in a new
thread
Regards
