Un-Install MSN Messenger - Best Method

D

David H.

Hello,

I wish to remove MS Messenger from an XP Pro PC.

I have searched on the web, and found 2 methods:

1. Involves using a run line command with a "remove"

2. Involves removing the "hide" text in a sysoc.inf file

Method 2 then gives you the option to use add/remove
it in Windows components.

Is method 2 the preferred/best option?

Many Thanks - David - UK

I don't think there *is* a preferred method. I think it is determined by
your needs and current situation/skill set. If you are comfortable with
command line and maybe need to do this on hundreds of computers, then the
first would certainly be easier to script. If you need to do this on one(or
just a few) computer(s) and have local access (remote control) over each of
them, then the second works as well.

Hello Shenan,

Many thanks.. I only have 2 PC's todo.
Method 2 seemed to be the best, if only because it
seemed right doing it through add/remove programs.

Thanks again - David - UK
