Hi
I have 2 pcs with Windows XP Pro, both have the same pioneer dvd writer
and Nero 6/InCD
I have a DVD-R formatted in UDF which one of them reads with ease, the
second cann't read it at all?
I have tried installing the roxio UDF reader to see if it would read it
but to no avail, in went in smoothly and then did nothing.
Is there anyway I can fix this? I don't want to have to reinstall win XP
to do this.
NB Nero on the second pc can see the disc via disc info but file explorer
cann't?

Thanks

It is a matter of what particular package was used to write the problem
DVD. One possibility is that it was formatted in the new Mount Rainier
format. That needs either a writer with equivalent firmware, or for
reading on a drive without that (which means most pure readers, and a
lot of DVD writers as yet) you need a supplementary program. I would
have *thought* the roxio udfreader was up to speed on that, but maybe
not: try the equivalent EasyWrite reader from www.nero.com
