UAC-Permission problems

HP Vista Premium 32. I'm trying to replace a 3 year old program that has
problems with a new 2008 version. The 'old' program doesn't show up in the
Uninstall list. When I try to delete it I need permission. I'm the only
user on this computer and I'm listed as the Administrator, but I can't make
sense of the "UAC, Special Permissions, etc.

I need a 'simple' explanation taking me through the process to allow me to
delete the entire folder.

Three days of reading and trying have worn me out. Help will be greatly
appreciated.

Try running gpedit.msc. Go to Local Comp Policy/Local Comp Config/Windows
Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options.

Scroll to the bottom where User Account Control listings are.

Second UAC listing, Admin Approval Mode for Administrators... set to
Elevate Withour Prompt.

Thanks for all the help...however I was unsuccssful with most of the
suggestions...probably because I'm computer stupid! But...I finally tried
turning off UAC then selecting the items, holding down the shift key, and
pressing the Delete button on the keyboard. (I never was able to "Allow
Permission" because the program wasn't listed properly). Thanks again...now
I hope the replacement program installs good...and I'm back to normal.
Havae a nice day. bobg
