Typing is slow

when I type in Word or Outlook, the letters appear on the screen very slowly.
I can sit back, fold my hands and watch them. How do I change the speed to
match my typing speed?

Is typing normal in other programs such as NotePad? Keyboard input is
controlled by the operating system, not individual programs, and in my
experience the slow input you are seeing is always caused by the
computer being busy doing some other task such as a virus scan.
